Human Resources 101 Foundry/Rod Mill Supervisor Foundry/Rod Mill Supervisor COMPANY PROFILE: Our client is seeking an experienced Foundry/Rod Mill Supervisor or an individual that has the ability to learn the entire Foundry/Casting, Rolling & Coiling Operation & assume a Working Supervisory position for 1 of the Rod Mills shifts. This “Foundry/Rod Mill Supervisor” will report to the Rod Mill Manager & will be responsible for the day to day operational production from melting to producing finished rod, working in a team environment. The companies Rod Mill includes 1 melter furnace, 2 holder furnaces, casting wheel, a degasser, grain refiner station & a ceramic filter. The finished bar is hot rolled into a 3/8" diameter rod wound into 5,000-pound coils in a continuous casting operation. REQUIREMENTS - Must be able to achieve Production goals with zero quality & health & safety incidents - Must be able to meet stringent deadlines, multi-task & will be expected to learn all facets of the Rod Mill operation - Must be safety conscious & able to follow policies & procedures routinely while adhering to & ensuring all OHSA’s requirements are met - Responsible for the performance of a small team/crew - Must have a mechanical ability to run, troubleshoot & set up machines - Must be dedicated with excellent attendance levels & possess a positive attitude - Must be able to work a variety of shift schedules including; days, afternoons & nights - Must be results driven, self-motivated & able to lead a team by example - Must be able to identify training/learning gaps - Must be able to meet &/or exceed targets & the demands of the business - Must be able to take ownership & responsibility for all assigned tasks & delegate to crew members - Actively participate & engage in continuous improvement strategies & initiatives QUALIFICATIONS - Min Educational Requirement: Completion of Grade twelve or equivalent GED, completion of college/vocational or technical training - Strong Mechanical Aptitude - Previous experience in Supervising, Shift work & Manufacturing - Good manual dexterity - Work weekends as required - Strong communication skills are essential - Practical experience in a foundry/rolling mill environment is preferred *Thank you for your interest in our Company.
