Sr. Director, Controller in Mississauga, Ontario

Position: Senior Director, ControllerLocation: GTA WestTravel: Less than 10% travel (USA)Compensation: Base $120,000 - $145,000, plus bonus, benefits, RRSP match and stock purchase/option/grant plan Our client, a leading provider in their industry has engaged us in an exclusive search for a senior member of their Management Team. As the Senior Director, Controller you will have direct line reporting to the VP/GM of the organization with Indirect reporting to the US Corporate Controller. This role has several direct reports and responsibilities in servicing all departments throughout the organization. This dynamic company is seeking a leader who has exceptional relationship management skills as the position involves a high touch environment throughout all levels of the organization.Responsibilities: Strategic Planning: Collaborating with the Management Team on Strategic Management decisions that help chart a path and enable sustainable value creation for the organization.Contributing member to the growth objectives by providing accounting and operational support for initiatives such as strategic partnerships and acquisitions. Finance: Manage the preparation of the annual financial plan and periodic forecasts.Providing comparisons of actual financial results with forecast and meaningful variance explanations in a timely, efficient and effective way.Analyzing trends in financial data to provide details on opportunities and weaknesses.Managing the timely completion of the Financial Reporting Package on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis and ensuring compliance to US GAAP, FASB and the companies accounting practices.Address issues identified that affect financial reporting.Responsible for all inter-business unit transactions.Resolution of any open issues as it relates to your department through communication to internal/external contacts.Review and advise on tax provisioning and tax compliance.Ensure that systems and procedures are in compliance with company policies, acceptable accounting practices and applicable regulations.Manage banking relationships along with cash management within the company's investment policy.Ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley including, developing, establishing, implementing and maintaining requisite controls and procedures to support financial system and operational processes. Leadership: Oversee strategic planning in human resources and finance.Continuous support in the development of team members to ensure succession planning is in place. Skills and Qualifications: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with capacity for innovative and integrative thought.Ability to operate with honest, integrity and self-confidence and to exercise due diligence, identify conflicts of interest and adhere to the rules of professional conduct.Capable of communicating complex matter to all levels within the organization, both orally and in writing.Ability to generate significant innovation and creative ideas to develop strategies, goals, policies, plans, services and solutions for the company.Ability to communicate ideas and influence decision makers and all those affected on your finding, ideas and concepts.Multinational Financial Statement experience with fluency in FAS 52 foreign currency translation accounting.Experienced in SAP/Oracle implementation preferred.Professional designation (CA, CMA, or CGA) with 10+ years' experience in management with progressively more experience in accounting, auditing, finance and financial statement reporting.
